Northwest 315° – Uncomfortable Solitude

Northwest 315° – Uncomfortable Solitude

PROJEct by SARAH DORFER

The fact that I was on a solo expedition automatically made my attention focus on other people. The surrounding area was immediately relegated to being secondary, with my gaze following people going in front, next or behind me. I was watching them.

At some point there was complete solitude and suddenly I felt free! Something in me was changing, and the perception of my surroundings became more intense – felt changed. I started to hear sounds, feel the warmth of the sun, and to concentrate on myself and be aware of myself walking. The lightheartedness of other people who had made themselves comfortable in nice spots gave me the feeling of community: like in a living room, but in the middle of the city.
